The City of Shelton, WA is the only incorporated city in Mason County and is also the county seat. Shelton is located just 20 miles outside of Olympia, Washington’s state capitol. Shelton is known as the “Gateway to the Olympics” as well as “Christmastown, USA.” In 2020 Shelton was awarded the Guinness Record for “Most Lit Christmas Trees” in one location.
